Joel Ackerman

Chief Financial Officer,
DaVita, Inc.

Joel Ackerman joined the Mozarc Medical board of directors in April 2023. Joel is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of DaVita, Inc., a position he’s held since 2017. He is also chairman of the board of Champions Oncology, Inc., where he previously served as chief executive officer, and is a member of the board of One Acre Fund, a not-for-profit organization that serves subsistence farmers in Africa. Previously, Joel was a managing director at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm. Joel previously served on the board of directors at Kindred Healthcare, Inc. and Coventry Health Care, Inc.

Dave Anderson

Dave Anderson joined the Mozarc Medical board of directors in March 2024. Since 2022, he has been the Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management at Medtronic, leading transformative multi-billion acquisitions and divestitures. Previous roles include President of Neuromodulation, and General Manager of Enabling Technologies. Prior to Medtronic, Dave was the Vice President of M&A Integration at Abbott, and held a series of progressive leadership roles in R&D, Operations, and Technology at St. Jude Medical. Dave has served in a variety of Board leadership and advisory roles. He holds five medical device and medical procedure patents.

James Corbett

James Corbett joined the Mozarc Medical board of directors in April 2023. James has been the chief executive officer of AVITA Medical since September 2022, after serving on AVITA’s board since June 2021. AVITA Medical is a regenerative medicine company addressing therapeutic skin restoration and is publicly traded on Nasdaq and ASX. During his 40-year career as a medical device leader, James has served as CEO of several medical device companies, including CathWorks Ltd., Microtherapeutics Inc., ev3 Inc., Alphatec Spine, Home Diagnostics, Inc., and Vertos Medical. Previously, he was general manager of Baxter Japan, and general manager and president of Scimed Life Systems, Inc., and Boston Scientific International.

Scott Doniger

Scott Doniger joined the Mozarc Medical board of directors in April 2023. Scott is head of Corporate Strategy at DaVita, Inc., with oversight of enterprise strategy, new growth opportunities, partnership negotiations, and other strategic initiatives. Scott joined DaVita in 2010. Prior to DaVita, Scott was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, serving provider, pharmaceutical, and medical device clients. He began his career in scientific research with an emphasis on the genetic basis of disease.

Kim Lody

Board Member, Senior Executive
in Life Sciences and Healthcare (Retired)

Kim Lody joined the Mozarc Medical board of directors in May 2023. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of the board for Ball Ventures, a privately held diversified investment and operating company, and Convatec Group, a medical products and technologies company. Previously, Kim was the President and CEO of Sonida Senior Living, where she led a multi-year operational and financial transformation of the company and served on the board. Over her 25+ year career, Kim has also held senior executive, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Operating Officer roles for such companies as GN Hearing North America, Coloplast, Senior Home Care, Gentiva Health Services, and Apria Healthcare.

Ven Manda

Ven Manda is the Chief Executive Officer of Mozarc Medical and serves on its board of directors. Before becoming CEO in 2023, he was the operating unit president of Medtronic Renal Care Solutions with a singular focus on improving the quality of life for patients with end stage renal disease through innovative medical device technology. Since joining Medtronic in 1994, Ven has served in a number of research, product development, and business leadership roles, including vice president of New Therapies and Diagnostics in Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure division, and vice president of Science, Technology, and Renal Care Solutions. Ven has previously helped introduce novel device therapies for atrial fibrillation and heart failure management.

Laura Mauri

Laura Mauri, M.D., M.Sc., joined the Mozarc Medical board in March 2024. She is currently the Senior Vice President, Chief Scientific, Medical, and Regulatory Officer at Medtronic. In this role, Laura leads the global company’s scientific, medical, clinical research and regulatory affairs functions and is a member of the Medtronic Executive Committee. Laura is an interventional cardiologist who practiced at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital for 15 years. As an internationally renowned investigator and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Laura helped shape clinical evaluation of new medical technology, providing a greater understanding of the interactions between medical devices, clinical practice, and concurrent pharmaceutical therapy.
